Frederick Drobiak Obituary

Frederick J. Drobiak, 84 of Pittsfield, passed away October 29, 2025. He was born in Adams, MA on June 28, 1941.

Fred was the beloved husband of Josephine (Josie) Cimini. They enjoyed 32 years of marriage before her passing in 2007. He was the son of Rudolph and Helen Dobrowolski Drobiak. He was predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Barbara Drobiak.

Fred as a young man, began working as the elevator operator in the early days of England Brothers Department Store in Pittsfield. He continued to work in the office of England's for 20 years until its closing in 1988. Fred then went on to work at KB Toys, in the accounting and audit department, retiring in 2006. While at KB, Fred enjoyed his time on the 4th of July Parade Committee. Many will also remember him working at the Ralph J. Froio Senior Center where he developed many friendships. He also was a lifetime member of the Friends of Pittsfield Council on Aging.

Fred was a communicant of the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and of St. Marks Church.

His many nieces, nephews and cousins miss him and have enjoyed our time with him.

Memorial services will be private.

Yesterday

Fred and I grew up across the street from each other on Baskin Lane. Many fond memories of the neighborhood kids and cousins getting together at each others backyards for games, putting on plays in his garage, or mine, and general fun. We explored the streets of Adams at a time when it was a safe place. Our imaginations ran wild. He is a part of my youthful memories. May he rest in peace.
