Gary Dus Obituary

Gary R. Dus, 73, of Stephentown, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, May 22nd. Born on October 24th, 1951, in Pittsfield, MA, to Ricco H. Dus, Sr., and Marjorie L. Pixley Dus. Gary grew up in Richmond, MA, and lived a life filled with diverse passions and accomplishments.

Gary's first job was working on Malumphys Farm in Richmond, where he developed a strong work ethic and appreciation for the land. He later served in the Army Reserve for six years. During this time, Gary began a career as a draftsman at General Electric, where he worked for several years, utilizing his technical skills and attention to detail in both drafting and machinery. After his service, Gary continued to grow in his career and pursued various interests. He was also an innovator, building and designing early circuit boards, showcasing his creativity and ingenuity. His love for inventions and gardening, where his green thumb brought joy to those around him, remained lifelong passions.

Above all, Gary cherished his family. His children were his greatest achievement, and he had the pleasure of seeing the wonderful adults and caring parents they've become. He is survived by his brothers Ricco H. Dus, Jr., Robert E. Dus and wife Lisken Van Pelt Dus, and Lino S. Dus, all of Pittsfield. Gary leaves his four children, Brian J. Dus of Stephentown, Matthew A. Dus of New Lebanon, Jonathan H. Dus of Stephentown, and Catherine M. Dus Martin of Averill Park, and his three children from a second marriage, Cameron Dus, Alden Dus, and Christy Dus of Connecticut, whom he loved and wished he could have spent more time with. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild, and many cousins and other relatives.

Gary was predeceased by his brother David L. Dus of Nassau, NY.

Gary's memory will live on through the countless lives he touched with his love, kindness, and generosity. His family will deeply miss him, but they take comfort in the cherished memories they shared with him.

Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.
