It is with great sadness we announce the death of our beloved Heidi Marie Lockman, 63 of Pittsfield, MA. Heidi passed on December 5, 2023 after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She was born the daughter of Peter and Janice (Maxwell) Furcinite on October 2, 1960 in Pittsfield. MA.

She married Randall Lockman in 1984 and were later blessed with the birth of their son, Andrew Lockman.

Heidi grew up in Lee, MA and was a graduate of Lee High School and of Berkshire Community College. After completing her associates degree, she took a job at Wee Kare Kiddie College in Pittsfield where she developed young minds for 32 years. Even decades later, students and parents that would run in to her would hug her and call her "Miss Heidi!". A caregiver at heart, she continued her career at Berkshire County ARC as a habitation specialist until her cancer and treatments would no longer allow her to work. She enjoyed working with her individuals and kept in contact long after she left.

Heidi was a parishioner of the First United Methodist Church of Pittsfield, MA. She was a Sunday School teacher and served a term as Education Chair. She volunteered with food preparation at the Harvest Table and helped serve lunches at the Cathedral of the Beloved, both of which serve the homeless of our community. She was the assistant gardener helping with weeding, soil prep and plant shopping for the beautiful church garden. She was also active in Cub Scouts (Pack 1) as a den leader. She was so proud of her son Andrew becoming an Eagle Scout. She was a co-captain for the Scouting for A Cure, Relay for Life Team and then Limitless, Relay for Life Team.

The baker in the family, Heidi would always show up with dessert. She was famous for her pizzelles and lemon bars (no one made them better) and the massive cookie platters she would make with her family at Christmastime. Heidi always made homemade greeting cards that could put Hallmark out of business. She also loved to paint, often painting old saw blades with beautiful scenes and selling them at craft fairs. Most of all, she was a wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, with a kind and generous soul who loved to spend time with all of us.

Heidi is survived by her husband, Randall Lockman and her son, Andrew Lockman, both of Pittsfield. Her parents, Peter and Janice (Maxwell) Furcinite of Lee. A sister, Christine Furcinite-Reynolds (Craig) of Lee. Mother in-law, Jine "Grammie" Lockman. Sister in-law, Wendy Coe (David) of Pittsfield. Brother in-law, Scott Lockman (Deb Nils) of Apalachin, NY and Canada. Walt Lockman and Richard Maxwell (uncles). Shirley Furcinite and Antionette Furcinite (aunts) and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins and her best friends, Susan Coelho, who was by her side every step of the way, and Kathy Murach.

There will be a memorial service and celebration of life after the first of the New Year.
