Helen V. Tarjack
PITTSFIELD -- A concelebrated Liturgy of Christian Burial for Helen Veronica (Packlick) Tarjack (Twardzik), 92, of 12 Union St., North Adams, took place Wednesday, March 19, 1:30 p.m., at Holy Family Church, Pittsfield, with the Rev. Michael W.T. Twardzik, son, officiating.
The Most Rev. Thomas Dupre, bishop of Springfield, presided. Other concelebrants included the Rev. Michael Shershanovich, pastor of St. Joseph’s and Holy Family churches, Pittsfield; the Rev. Leo LeClerc of St. Rose deLima of Chicopee; the Rev. Philippe D. Roux of St. Stanislaus Church, South Deerfield; the Rev. Peter Pagano, retired; the Rev. Sean McDonough of the UMass Newman Center; the Rev. Stanley Aksamit of St. Mary’s Church, Turner’s Falls; the Rev. Daniel Pacholec PV, of St. Rose deLima, Chicopee; the Rev. David Joyce of Our Lady of Hope, Springfield; the Rev. William Murphy of Most Holy Redeemer Church, Hadley; the Rev. John Lessard of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Holyoke; the Rev. John Smegal of St. Brigid’s Church, Amherst; and the Rev. Christopher Connolly, secretary to Bishop Dupre.
They were assisted by the Rev. Ted Tudryn, permanent deacon of St. Stanislaus Church, South Deerfield, and the Rev. Albert Routhier, permanent deacon of St. Mary’s Church, Turner’s Falls.
Seth Tuper was the thurifer. Bill Sawosky was the crucifer. Acolytes were Felix Grygorcewicz Jr. and Mary Grygorcewicz. The acolytes were Felix Grygorcewicz Jr. and Mary Grygorcewicz. Tony Maffucio was the sacristan.
The pall was unfolded by Trudy Potash, Sophie Woitkowski, Jeanine Potash, Alice Magdalenski, Sadie Kirkbride, Sophie Almore and Ann Grochmal. The crucifix was placed on the casket by Martha Maker on behalf of Bessie Williams, sister, and Frank Packlick, brother. The Bible was placed on the casket by Jane Sadowsky and Gladys Nartowicz.
Dennis Zepka was the usher. The ministers of the word were Richard Lysonski and Felix Grygorcewicz Sr. The offertory was presented by Matthew Zepka, Patricia Malnati, Francis Malnati and Fred Harrington.
Viola Sivic, organist, led the Holy Family Choir.
Burial was in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Pallbearers were Walter Potash and Chester Potash, nephews; Chester Potash Jr. and Joseph Potash, grandnephews; and Donald Sadowsky and Paul Sadowsky.
Mrs. Tarjack died March 15. The Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, was in charge of arrangements.
