Howard Brockway Obituary

Howard E. Brockway, 64, of Providence Court, Pittsfield, died Tuesday, November 28, 2017, at Baystate Medical Center.

Born in Pittsfield on July 31, 1953, the son of Edward H. Brockway, Jr. and Virginia J. Sweener Brockway, he was a graduate of Mount Greylock Regional High School.

Mr. Brockway was employed by General Electric Company as a missile machinist for 23 years. He enjoyed woodworking and was an accomplished furniture maker.

He leaves two daughters, Melissa Brockway Pyetranker of Pittsfield and Jennifer Noyse and her husband, Jason, of Greenville, S.C.; a son, Eric Brockway of Pittsfield; a brother, Ted Brockway of Lanesborough; and three grandchildren, Jakira Noyse, Caiden O'Connor Brockway, and Tallullah O'Connor Brockway. He also leaves his former wife, Joyce Ann Sondrini, of Cheshire and several nieces and nephews.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Services for Howard E. Brockway will be held Tuesday, December 5, at 11:00 a.m., at First United Methodist Church in Pittsfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield, MA 01201 to help with funeral expenses.

Howie and I grew up 2 streets apart and shared the same birthday. Played ball, built tree forts, swam at the point, rode bikes together. I have a lot of fond memories. Rest In Peace Howie.
