Jeffrey A. Phillips
1956 - 2013 DALTON Jeffrey A. Phillips, "Inspector #10", 57, of Mobil Terrace, passed away peacefully on Monday, at his sister's home in Hinsdale, with his family, following a brief battle with cancer. Born in Pittsfield on Feb. 11, 1956, the son of Albert and Gail Gaylord Phillips, he was a 1974 graduate of Wahconah High School. He worked at Beloit Jones from June 10, 1974, until Jan. 29, 1999, where he was employed in quality control. Most recently, he was employed at Camp Kinderland in Tolland as a maintenance man from April 2000 until this past July. Jeff enjoyed fishing and was an advocate of getting children involved in ice fishing and helped to organize many local tournaments. He loved sports and football, Patriots and Red Sox fan, enjoyed playing Cribbage and Scat. Jeff is survived by two sisters, Susan Clark of Jaffrey, N.H., and Diane Lewis of Hinsdale; four brothers, Steven Phillips of Windsor, Scott Phillips of Dalton, Brian Phillips of Pittsfield, and Glen Phillips of Herman, Mo., 12 nieces and nephews, and an uncle, Mark Gaylord of Peru. FUNERAL NOTICE: Graveside services for Mr. Jeffrey A. Phillips will be Friday, Dec. 6, 2013, at 9 a.m. in Ashuelot Cemetery in Dalton with the Rev. William Furey officiating. Calling hours will be Thursday, Dec. 5, from 4 to 6 p.m. at BARTLETT WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 525 Main St., Dalton.
