John W. Kinnas

1945 - 2025

John W. Kinnas, 80 of Pittsfield, passed away October 30, 2025 at Berkshire Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Born in Pittsfield on October 27, 1945, he was the son of John and Eleanor Brunelle Kinnas.

He was a graduate of Pittsfield High School.

Mr. Kinnas married the former Barbara Greene on March 7, 2000, celebrating 25 years of marriage earlier this year.

He was a letter carrier for the United States Post Office in Pittsfield and was a member of the Local 473 Laborers Union. In his retirement John and his wife Barb became snow birds enjoying their time between their home in Lanesboro and Sarasota, Florida where he picked up the game of pickleball, a game he enjoyed very much. He also enjoyed playing the game of golf and was a huge baseball and sports fan, rooting for the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots.

Spending time at Saratoga Race Track with friends and family was another favorite pastime of his and playing the game of Keno.

John will be remembered for his quick wit, immense sense of humor and his love for his family. When remembering John it will be met with great pride, unconditional love, and always laughter.

Mr. Kinnas is survived by his wife, Barbara Kinnas of Pittsfield, their children, Melissa Tart and husband Richard of Lee, Stephen Chapman and wife Liz of Adams, Mike Chapman and wife Tina of Clearwater, FL, and Lori Daubert of Sarasota, FL. as well as 15 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, his brother Dudley Kinnas and wife Pat of Pittsfield and a sister Bonnie McLaughlin and husband Bob of Cheshire.

He was predeceased by his loving son, John C. Kinnas who passed away in 2020, his brothers Wesley Kinnas, Douglas Kinnas and a sister Marcia Muir.

There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.
