John Maloney Obituary
1943 - 2015 PITTSFIELD John Thomas Maloney, Sr. 71, of 50 Linden Street Apt. #4, died at his home Friday, May 22, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. Born on October 20, 1943 in Sharon, CT a son of the late James E. and Alice Pulaski Maloney. He attended schools in Pittsfield and was a 1962 graduate of Pittsfield High School. He was a US Navy Vietnam War Veteran. Mr. Maloney was employed for Haddad Rugs as a carpet installer for 45 years retiring in 2003. He was a member of the V.F.W. and his greatest joy was his family and grandchildren. He leaves his wife, the former Lynn C. Blake, whom he married January 7, 1967 at St. Stephens Episcopal Church. Besides his wife he leaves two sons, John T. Maloney Jr. and wife, Carol and James E. Maloney and wife, Angel, two daughters, Stacey A. DeGroff and husband, Stanley of Hannibal, NY and Kelly J. Deeley and husband, Jay of Florida, MA. A brother, his twin, James Maloney and wife, Barbara of West Warwick, RI. A sister, Mary Krack of Dalton, two half-brothers, Donald Rueger of Cheshire, and Raymond Rueger of NY State, 13 grandchildren, John Thomas Maloney III, Ashley E. Maloney, Michael P. Maloney Military Police US Marines and his wife, Brittany, Molly MacGregor and husband, Jawad Tariq, Staff Sgt. Julian Herman US Marines, Helena Herman, Arysa R. Maloney, Audrina M. Maloney, Landon M. Maloney, Stanley E. DeGroff IV, Britani N. DeGroff, William R. DeGroff, Jr. and Chelsea L. DeGroff and her companion, Stephanie Mirante, three great-grandchildren, Stanley E. DeGroff V, Hunter J. DeGroff and Juliana Card. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at 10 a.m. at the DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield. Burial will follow in the family plot at Pittsfield Cemetery with military honors. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, May 26, 2015 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials in his memory may be made to Hospice Care in the Berkshires in care of the funeral home.
