Lorraine Maslanka Obituary
For the majority of her career, Lorraine was employed by the former Eaton Paper Company, and later retired from Canyon Ranch in the housekeeping department.
Besides enjoying spending time with her family, friends and many pets over the years, especially her favorite whippet Silly, she also liked watching the wildlife from her windows, traveling to Cape Cod, watching the nightly news and Jeopardy (or the Westminster Dog Show if it was on) with a whiskey sour or glass of wine, traveling the back roads of Canaan and New Lebanon driving very slowly not to miss anything that was going on and then stopping at "the pub" to catch up on more.
Lorraine is survived by her sister Barbara Ferrarin and husband Ray, sister-in-law Sally Maslanka, as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews and many cousins.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her life partner Camilla "Cim" Smith, her sisters June Chase and Beverly Myers and her husband David, her brothers Francis Maslanka and Benjamin Maslanka, Jr. and his wife Phyllis, and her nephew and Godson Scott Maslanka.
The family wants to give a special thank you to the staff at Springside Nursing Home and HospiceCare in the Berkshires for their kindness and loving care of Lorraine.
Funeral Notice:
Per Lorraine's wishes, there will be no calling hours or services and burial will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Lorraine's memory can be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires, Berkshire Humane Society or a charity of your choice in care of the Dwyer Funeral Home.
