PITTSFIELD -- Lucia M. DiNicola, 80, of 30 Putnam Ave. died yesterday at Berkshire Medical Center. She had resided at Springside of Pittsfield since April 2003.
Born in Pittsfield on Oct. 2, 1924, daughter of Giovanni and Natalina Cimini DiMaleo, she attended local schools.
Mrs. DiNicola was employed by the Brett-Forer card company for five years, retiring in 1985. She also had worked at BMC as a cashier for 20 years and, prior to that, at GE Plastics for five years.
She was a communicant of Mount Carmel Church and a member of its Ladies' Guild. She was a volunteer at the church bazaars and fund-raisers, and enjoyed cooking.
Her husband, Vito "Vic" DiNicola, whom she married April 19, 1947, in Mount Carmel Church, died Oct. 29, 2003.
She leaves a son, Raymond DiNicola of Pittsfield, a sister, Talinda Schnopp of Taunton, and two grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Lucia M. DiMaleo DiNicola, who died Oct. 20, 2004, will be held Saturday, Oct. 23, at 8 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church by the Rev. Geoffrey J. Deeker, CSS, pastor. Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be tomorrow, Oct. 22, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. The Mount Carmel Ladies' Guild will meet at the funeral home at 5:30 for a Vigil Service. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Raymond A. and Deborah DiNicola, and two grandchildren, Laura Lemay of Salem, N.H., and Sarah DiNicola of Framingham, and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Lorenzo J. DiMaleo and John B. DiMaleo and a sister, Carmella Rivard. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Berkshire County Arc or to Mount Carmel Church in care of the funeral home.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

We all share in your loss. Aunt Lucy loved her family and was so proud of you, Debbie and especially Sarah and Laura
I don't know about you but I am confident that our deceased extended families are together "in peace" with our Lord.

Give us a call if you are in our area. Altho the Yankees don't have spring training here--we do have 12 teams working out from Feb thru early April. Think about it-Same applies for the girl's....

I remember Aunt Lucy as a smiling, sweet woman with a great sense of humor. Heaven will benefit from her presence as we grieve for her passing on. God bless her.
