Marie Trapani

1940 - 2025

Marie Catherine Trapani, 84 of Pittsfield, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on November 19, 2025, at Berkshire Place after a long battle with cancer. Born in Pittsfield on December 7, 1940, she was the daughter of Daniel and Marguerite Butler McLaughlin. She graduated from St Joseph's High School, the Elms College, and on to graduate from Berkshire Business College.

She married Mario J. Trapani on November 28,1964.

Before starting a family, Marie worked at Apple and Albano Accounting. Then. Marie devoted her life to her family offering love, guidance, and comfort to their lives. Her kindness and gentle spirit made her a source of warmth not only for those closest to her but to all who crossed her path. Marie could lighten up any conversation with her wit and contagious sense of humor.

She enjoyed spending time outdoors, walking, hiking, and loved to vacation at Maine. She also loved to go dancing.

Mrs. Trapani is survived by her husband Mario J. Trapani of Pittsfield. Their children, James Trapani and wife Cindy of Mendon, MA, Michael Trapani of Capitola, CA, and Christine Plonsky and husband Bryan of Boca Raton, FL. She also leaves her granddaughter, Gabrielle Plonsky; as well as her siblings, Daniel McLaughlin of Pittsfield, Michael McLaughlin of Pittsfield, and Christina Rose of Pittsfield.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held, Monday, December 1, 2025 at 11 a.m. at St. Mark Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. There will be an hour of visitation prior to the funeral from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in her name to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation in care of Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield, MA 01201.
