Mary Ann Pratt, 78, of Adams, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 13th.
Born on January 27, 1947, at W.B. Plunkett Memorial Hospital, she was the daughter of Longin Meczywor and Irene (Jasinski) Meczywor. MaryAnn grew up in Adams and was a proud graduate of the former Adams Memorial High School. She later continued her education at MCLA, earning a degree in Early Childhood Development.
On August 18, 1973, MaryAnn married the love of her life, Ronald Pratt. Together they built a warm and loving home filled with devotion and deep mutual care. She was a cherished sister to her late brother, Vincent Meczywor, and a devoted aunt-lovingly known as "Ciocia"-to her nieces and nephew: Melissa Messemer of Rotterdam Junction, NY, Nicole Senerth of Winthrop, Mass., and Jonathan Meczywor of Lanesborough, as well as their six children. MaryAnn's lifelong passion was caring for people. She served as a founding teacher of the Williams College childcare program, where she helped shape the lives of countless young children with patience, creativity, and gentle guidance. She later worked in Elder Care through Molari, offering compassion and dignity to those she served. Her work was more than a career-it was a calling. A woman of deep faith, MaryAnn was an active member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church and its Rosary Sodality. She found joy in helping others, volunteering her time, and living her values quietly but powerfully. Her spirit was tender, genuine, and unwavering. MaryAnn was predeceased by her parents, Longin and Irene Meczywor, and her brother, Vincent Meczywor. She is survived by her husband, Ronald Pratt; her nieces, Melissa Messemer and Nicole Senerth; her nephew, Jonathan Meczywor; as well as many loving cousins, in-laws, and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 21st at 11:00 AM in the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St. Adams.
