Neil F. Hanlon

Neil Francis Hanlon, 61, of 150 Ashland St., North Adams, died on Wednesday Nov. 14, 2007, at North Adams Commons.
Born in North Adams on Oct. 10, 1946, he was a son of Anita (Raymond) Hanlon and the late Charles Hanlon. He attended schools in Williamstown including, Mount Greylock Regional High School. He was a graduate of the drafting program at McCann Technical School in North Adams.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving with the Air Force as a computer programmer.
After his military career, he moved to Salem, N.H., and Lowell, N.H. He then was employed as a taxi driver in Charlotte, N.C. He moved back to the Berkshires in the early 1980s and was employed for several construction companies in the area. He was master carpenter for the Williamstown Theatre Festival and was a accomplished artist, painter and poet.
He was a communicant of St.’s Patrick & Raphael Parish in Williamstown.
He was a member of the North Adams chapter of the Vietnam Veterans of America.
Besides his mother of Williamstown, he leaves a sister, Nora B. Hanlon of Guilderland, N.Y.; three brothers, Mark W. Hanlon of Sterling, and Kevin C. Hanlon and Kyle J. Hanlon, both of North Adams; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
A brother, Glen R. Hanlon, died Nov. 17, 2006.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Neil Hanlon will take place Friday, Nov. 16, at 11 a.m., at the Sherman Burbank Memorial Chapel in Williamstown with the Rev. Mark Burke officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Veterans Circle at Eastlawn Cemetery, Williamstown.
At his request, there are no calling hours.
