Neil Hanlon Obituary
WILLIAMSTOWN -- Funeral services for Neil Francis Hanlon, 61, of 150 Ashland St., North Adams, were held Friday, Nov. 16, at 11 a.m., at the Sherman Burbank Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Mark Burke, pastor of Saints Patrick and Raphael Parish, officiating.
The organist and soloist was Joshua Sprague.
Burial followed in the veterans’ circle in Eastlawn Cemetery with members of Richard Ruether American Legion Post 152, under the direction of Commander George Sylvester, conducting military honors. Chaplain Edward Pratt offered the veteran’s prayer and recited “What the Flag Stands For.” Rolland Roy presented the flag to Mr. Pratt, who offered it to Mr. Hanlon’s mother, Anita.
Members of the color guard were Joseph Gerry, Robert Gerry, Harold Montgomery, William Noyes, Gordon Morrison and Earl Green. Firing squad members were Cecil Harvey, Fred Smith and Francis Snide. Ronald Whitney played taps.
The pallbearers were Kevin Hanlon, Kyle Hanlon and Mark Hanlon, brothers; Peter LePage, friend; Trevor Hanlon, nephew; and Paul Guillotte, cousin.
Mr. Hanlon died Nov. 14. The Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, North Adams, was in charge of arrangements.
