Born in St. Francis, Maine, on April 27, 1925, daughter of John and Adelia Savage Sinclair, she was a graduate of Fort Kent High School. She graduated from Berkshire Community College in Pittsfield in 1969 with an associate degree in nursing and re-ceived her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Massachusetts in 1974.
From 1969 to 1974, she was a psychiatric nurse at Austen Riggs Center in Stockbridge. She then was a professor of nursing at Springfield Technical Community College from 1974 to 1986 and a consultant to the nursing program from 1986 to 1987, when she retired.
She and her husband, Raymond I. Johnson, were married 58 years.
Besides her husband, she leaves two sons, Carl Bruce Johnson of Pittsfield and Robert W. Johnson of West Holyoke; and two brothers, John Sinclair of Fort Kent, Maine, and Donald Sinclair of Ottowa, Kan.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Rena Sinclair Johnson will be tomorrow at 2 at Bible Baptist Church on Morgan Road in West Springfield. Burial will be private. Calling hours will be today from 6 to 9 at BARRY J. FARRELL FUNERAL HOME, 2049 Northampton St., Holyoke. Survivors include daughters-in-law, Lauren Johnson of Pittsfield and Lennice Johnson of West Holyoke, and several nieces and nephews.

I was so sorry to hear of the passing of Mrs. Johnson. It's so great, though, to have the confidence that she is in heaven and breathing celestial air, happier than she has ever been! My thoughts and prayers are extended to you, her family.
