Richard Cimini Obituary

Richard P. Cimini, 83, of Cumming, GA passed away peacefully on Feb 8, 2025, with his loving wife of 39 years by his side. Richard (also known as Dickie and Papa Dickie) was born on July 15, 1941, to Patrick and Clementine Cimini in Pittsfield, MA. Richard grew up in Pittsfield, MA with two younger siblings, Robert (Bobby) and Patricia (Patty). Stories have been told over the years of the trios' "shenanigans" in their youth. Richard graduated from Pittsfield High School.

Richard moved to Boston, MA to attend Wentworth Institute of Technology and he graduated from the engineering program in 1961. Throughout his career as a piping designer Richard worked in numerous cities in the US, including Groton, CT, Newport News, VA, San Diego, CA, and Bremerton submarine base in Washington State, He often traveled to Europe & the Pacific to do "ship checks". Over his 50-year career, he worked for General Dynamics, Bechtel Corporation, Fluor Engineering, and Jacobs Engineering. Richard ended his career on a government nuclear project with a federal security clearance in Oakridge, TN.

In his thirties, while living and working in Metairie, LA, Richard met Frederica Brewer Johnson, fell in love, and married on New Year's Day in 1986. Richard and Frederica enjoyed New Orleans city life and everything it had to offer. They moved to Tomball, TX outside Houston and eventually to Greeneville, South Carolina. In their later years, their favorite pastime was to go for an afternoon coffee.

Richard had a lot of charisma and never met a stranger. Richard loved all sports, all kinds of music and never liked to sit still. He had a profound sense of humor and a competitive nature.

Mr. Richard would come often to the cafe. He was always a joy to have and made our day seeing him. He was a kind soul and I´ll never forget every time he came him he´d say "Hey buddy!". I´m thankful to have met him.
