Richard "Ricky" Hopkins

1970 - 2025

Mr. Richard "Ricky" Hopkins, 55, of Pittsfield, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 8, 2025. Born in Pittsfield, MA, on July 17, 1970, he was the son of the late Norman Hopkins and Rosemary Mazzeo.

For the majority of his career, Ricky was employed by General Dynamics. He spent most of his free time working in his garage, and was well-known, and even more so liked, by the community for his personality, knowledge, and willingness to help.

Rick leaves behind his two daughters, Heather Putin and Amanda Lefebvre, his grandchildren, his sisters, Dawn, Lisa and her husband Eddy, Missy, and Terri and her husband Jeff , as well as his stepmother, Judy Hopkins. He leaves behind his extended family of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins, all of whom he adored. Ricky is also survived by friends too numerous to count, especially his good pal Mike Ellis, with whom he enjoyed many weekend breakfasts, and of whom he thought of as family.

The magnitude of Ricky's passing will reach well beyond Pittsfield--into many homes and hearts. Though he will be sorely missed, he will forever be remembered by those who were blessed to have known him.

Funeral Notice:

Calling hours for Ricky will be Friday, November 21, 2025, from 4pm to 6pm at the Dwyer Funeral Home, 776 North Street, Pittsfield MA 01201. A service at the funeral home will directly follow, at 6pm. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Ricky's memory can be made to a charity of one's choice.
