Robert Gutmann Obituary
Bob was born on December 23, 1954 in Pittsfield, the son of the late Winthrop N. and Mary Mullens Gutmann. Growing up in Lanesborough, he has many cherished memories of time spent with his brothers and sisters that he took great joy in reminiscing over. Some of his fondest memories were from playing in the neighborhood with siblings and friends. He graduated from Mount Greylock Regional School and Babson College.
Bob was an active member and supporter of Saint Mary's Church in Lee. He was a devoted husband, father, brother and uncle. He enjoyed sports, particularly playing golf, music, coin collecting, cribbage and vacationing in Biddeford Pool, Maine. He will be remembered for his wicked sense of humor and being an animated storyteller. Bob worked as an accountant having his own CPA practice, and worked for a variety of companies including: the Berkshire Eagle, the Berkshire Corporation, Country Curtains, and Red Lion Inn where he met his wife, Joanne.
Bob is survived by his two sons, Robert "Bobby" J. Gutmann and his wife Sara O'Brien of Billerica, MA and Andrew J. Gutmann of Little Rock, Arkansas, four brothers, W. Peter Gutmann and his wife Anita of Pittsfield, MA, Charles Gutmann and his wife Irene of Suffern, NY, Mark Gutmann and his wife Jamie of Morgantown, WV and Jim Gutmann of Eastchester, NY, nine sister and brother in-laws and 27 nieces and nephews.
Bob is predeceased by his wife of 35 years Joanne (Bona) Gutmann, in January of 2016, his sister Cathy (Gutmann) Eddy in 2017, and sister Winifred (Gutmann) Morenz in 2017.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 2, 10AM at St. Mary's Church in Lee. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call on the family Thursday, December 1, 2022, from 4 to 6PM at the Kelly Funeral Home, 3 Main Street Lee, MA 01238.
Friends wishing may make donations in his memory to St. Mary's School in Lee c/o the Kelly Funeral Home 3 Main Street Lee, MA 01238.

Bobby and I go way back. St. Charles through Mt. Greylock. After college I left for California and we lost touch.

Bob was my neighbor for the over 35 years. I have always liked him and found him to be a great friend. He helped me on many occasions was always there when I needed help. He was a great neighbor and a fine honorable man.
