Robert Hayes Obituary
Robert was born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, the son of the late Francis and Margaret (Collins) Hayes.
He worked for the NYS DOT for over 20 years and was the owner of Hayes and Sons Hardwood Flooring. "Old floors made new" was his mission statement and his legacy lives on through the many beautiful floors he revived
Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors, especially in the Adirondacks. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Toni J. Hayes, one daughter Elizabeth Hayes and three sons Rory Hayes (Tammy Hayes), Joseph Hayes (Holly Hayes) and Daniel Hayes, his six grandchildren Angelina and Priscilla Hayes, Jamie and William Hayes and Isaiah and Arii Tyler, siblings Margaret Percy, Helen Barbiero, Mary Quinto, Brigid Rufo, Elizabeth Flynn, Ann Hayes, William Hayes, John Hayes and Joseph Hayes as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his first son Jamie Hayes and three brothers Patrick, James and Francis Hayes.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Liturgy of Christian Burial Saturday, November 6, 2021, at 10am at St. Charles Church, 89 Briggs ave Pittsfield, MA, celebrated by the Rev. Daniel Cymer, Administrator. Calling hours will be Friday, November 5, 2021 from 4pm to 7pm at the Dwyer Funeral Home, 776 North Street, Pittsfield MA.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Robert's name to Hope House Inc in Albany to support addiction recovery services.
