Russell Yarter Obituary
Born in North Adams on Feb. 1, 1935, he was the son of Edward and Orvilla (Baker) Yarter. He attended schools in North Adams and graduated from Drury High School.
He was employed for 44 years at the Sprague Electric Co., North Adams, retiring in 1997.
In his younger years, he was a member of the Massachusetts National Guard.
He was an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoyed cooking.
His wife, the former Theresa Matuszak, whom he married Oct. 11, 1957, in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams. died Jan. 20.
He leaves four daughters, Brenda Wimpenney and her husband, Steve, of Nashua, N.H., Kim Yarter and her husband, Robert Gaudette, of Hinsdale, Paula Yarter of the town of Florida, and Tammy Daury of North Adams; nine grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Graveside services for Russell Yarter will take place in Southview Cemetery, North Adams.
There are no calling hours.
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice through the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247.
