Steven Cronin Obituary
Born in Pittsfield on June 21, 1958, to John and Irene Lamore Cronin, Steven was a graduate of the class of 1976 from St. Joseph High School and the class of 1980 from St. Michael's College in Colchester, Vermont.
Steven married Sharon Donovan on June 27, 1981; the two have been together since the first grade at St. Joseph's.
Steven was the Vice President of Berkshire Insurance Group, and prior to that was a partner at McCormick Smith & Curry.
Steven was heavily involved in his community. He served for many years on the boards of the Pittsfield Anti-Tuberculosis Association and Big Brothers - Big Sisters of Berkshire County. Steven also coached numerous youth and high school soccer teams and, along with his brother-in-law, coached the St. Joseph High School ski team from 1999 through 2009, including the 2000 State championship team. He was also a communicant of St. Joseph Church.
In addition to being an avid skier, Steven enjoyed golfing and running. Above all else, Steven was a family man; a loving husband; father; grandfather; and brother.
Steven is survived by his beloved wife, Sharon Cronin of Dalton; son Christopher Cronin and wife Amy of Stowe, Vermont; daughter, Caitlin Cronin Osantowski and husband Kevin of Gray, Maine; and grandchildren Bridget Cronin and Claire Osantowski. He also leaves behind his brother John Cronin (Marla) of Lewisville, Texas; sisters Mary Teresa Cronin-Furman (William) of Cambridge and Ann Manus (Gordon) of Ballwin, Missouri; mother-in-law Margaret Donovan of Pittsfield; sister-in-law Barbara Lagergren (Robert) of Pittsfield; brother-in-law John Donovan (Kristine) of Pittsfield; and many nieces and nephews.
FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, July 14 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, celebrated by Rev. Msgr. Michael Shershanovich, Pastor. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, July 13 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield, MA 01201. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to St. Joseph Church or to a charity of the donor's choice, in care of Dery Funeral Home.

I just learned of Steve's passing and can't even begin to express my sorrow to Sharon and family for their loss. Steve was terrific guy and I have so many fond memories of our time together during our years at St. Joseph's. Please know in your hearts that Steve made a tremendous impact on all of the lives that he touched.

Please allow me to say Steve Cronin was a wonderful young man having played Varsity Soccer at St. Michael's College in Winooski Park, Vermont during the late '70s. "Crowbaites" gave every ounce of his abilities to his teammates and his college. "Crowbaites" was an easy man to love as his coach and most importantly by his teammates. Chubby

Steve graduated in 1980 from St. Mikes-where we met as we were in the same class. I remember his wonderful smile and fun nature. So very sad to hear of his passing. I have no doubt he enjoyed life and family. Sending strength and prayers.
