Susie DiGrigoli Obituary
1924 - 2015 LEE Susie D. DiGrigoli 91, of 194 Center St. in Lee, died Saturday August 8th at Kimball Farms Nursing Care Center in Lenox. She was born in Pittsfield on April 16, 1924 the daughter of Dominic and Francesca Petigeula Pizzuto and was educated in the Pittsfield Schools. After her marriage on June 22, 1946 to the late Angelo P. DiGrigoli she moved to Lee. Her husband died Mar. 1, 2005. She worked for many years in the cafeteria at Lee High School. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church and a member of the Italian Fraternal Society. Susie enjoyed playing bingo at St. Mary's School, and playing cards with friends and family. She especially enjoyed being with her family. She was the loving mother of Sandra and her husband, Guido Scarafoni of Lee, Stephen DiGrigoli of Malden, MA, Paul DiGrigoli of West Holyoke, MA, Robert DiGrigoli and his wife, Jennifer of Marshfield, MA, loving mother-in-law of Jane DiGrigoli of Canton, GA, beloved Noni of Curt DiGrigoli, Marcus Scarafoni and his wife, Lisa, Angela and her husband, Rob Wittiker, Kristie Scarafoni and her partner, Robert Powers, Joseph, Matthew, Thomas, and Dinnea DiGrigoli, Anthony and Dominic Scarafoni, Luciana Scarafoni-Powers and Zoie, Emma and Keller Wittiker. She was the dear sister of William Pizzuto, Emma Dobrowiski, Thomas Pizzuto and his wife, Beverly, and Dolores Albano and her husband, Sam; devoted sister-in-law of Rose Ballato, Teresa Corbitt, Carm DiGrigoli and his wife, Gloria, Patricia Belba, Kathy Hall and her husband, Bill, and Lou DiGrigoli and his wife, Joyce. She was the caring aunt of many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband Angelo she was predeceased by her son, Carmen DiGrigoli, and grandson, James DiGrigoli and great-granddaughter Sophia Scarfoni, her sisters, Sylvia Doucette, Antoinette Giguere, Josephine Bonneau, Eleanor Adriance, Frances Pizzuto, and her step-siblings, Rose Farina. Lucy Strona and Dominic Pizzuto FUNERAL NOTICE: The Funeral for Susie DiGrigoli will be Thursday afternoon at 12:15p.m. from the Kelly Funeral Home in Lee with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 1pm at St. Mary's Church. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday from 4 to 7p.m. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations may be made to the Sedgwich Unit Activity Fund in care of the Kelly Funeral Home at 3 Main St., Lee, MA 01238. The family would like to thank the entire staff at Kimball Farm Nursing Care Center (Sedgwick Unit) for all their special love and kindness to our mom. I fondly remember meeting "Noni" when I first came to Lee with Marcus during our freshmen year at Northeastern. Before I could introduce myself or even sit down she asked if I was hungry and offered to make us some food. I was welcomed into her home like one of her grandkids and even though she thought my nickname was funny and my earring even funnier she made me part of her family and Lee quickly became my adopted home way from home. I will always remember her smile and warm hugs!

Susie was always so nice to me,and I would always try to stop and see her and your Dad when I was working in that area for the town.She always had a smile and something nice to say to me and I would always try to get that old radio from your father but I knew he would never part with it and it became a lot of laugh when I would see him,your mother always told me to take it,and we would always joke about it,your mother was a kind and beutiful person,and will be missed,Paul and Sheila Porrini.

Dear Sandy, Steve, Paul, and Bobbie. God Bless your family. Keep your memories alive in your heart . I will always remember the good times, Sunday pizzas, jelly donuts, visiting all our cousins, Christmas and can not forget the 4th of July picnics and drum core competitions! I remember Susie when she worked at the donut shop, all us school bus drivers would gather there after our morning runs. she was always making us laugh.
