Thomas J. Laureyns

1963 - 2017

Mr. Thomas J. Laureyns, 54, of Pittsfield, passed away suddenly on Sunday, October 22, 2017. Born in Pittsfield on June 28, 1963, the son of Richard and Jane Laureyns. He graduated from Taconic High School with the class of 1982.

Tom enlisted in the US Coast Guard and spent his time serving in New Haven, CT on the USCGC Vigorous (WMEC 627) until 1987. During his service, he was commended for his outstanding performance of duty and awarded with the Commandant's Letter of Commendation Ribbon Bar with the Operational Distinguishing Device. He also received the Rifle Marksmanship Ribbon. He graduated with a specialty in electronics and HVAC.

Tom was the founder and CEO of Four Seasons Heating & Cooling Inc., which has been in operation since 2001. Through his hard work, leadership, and with much integrity, he grew his company from five employees to forty. Tom loved his Four Seasons family, with many beloved employees still with the company since its start. Throughout the years, Tom actively contributed his time and resources to the Berkshire community and believed in giving back by supporting local businesses and charities. The Berkshires always held a very special place in his heart.

Anybody that knew Tom knew that his love of the outdoors was his passion. He was an avid sportsman. This love kept him hunting and fishing all his life. There wasn't anything he liked more than getting up before dawn, putting on his gear and heading into the woods. He shared many of his hunting experiences with close friends and looked forward to his annual hunting trip in Colorado. He also enjoyed many scenic rides throughout New England with his wife Maryanne on his Indian motorcycle.

Tom leaves behind his wife and high school sweetheart, the former Maryanne Gould. They were married for 31 years. He also leaves his three beautiful children, Nicole, Michael and Rachel Laureyns, who are his pride and joy. His father and mother, Dick and Jane Laureyns, his brother Rick Laureyns and wife Barbara, and two sisters, Jeannie Laureyns-Bell and husband David Bell, and Sheila Furtney and husband Kristopher. He also leaves behind a large extended family of beloved nieces, nephews, and in-laws, along with his canine companion "Budster."

Funeral Notice: Funeral services for Mr. Thomas Laureyns will be Saturday, October 28, 2017, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. Charles Church at 10 a.m. celebrated by Rev. Michael J. Wood, Jr., administrator and concelebrated by Rev. Daniel B. Brunton and Rev. John Roach. Burial will be at a later date. Calling hours will be on Friday, October 27, 2017 from 4 to 7 p.m. at St. Charles Church.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Soldier On Foundation or to Central Berkshire Habitat for Humanity, in care of the Dwyer Funeral Home, 776 North St., Pittsfield, MA in his memory.
