Thomas Mentzinger Obituary
He was born in Mineola, New York, lived in Vero Beach since 1997 and spent the summers in South Egremont, Massachusetts.
Tom attended plumbing trade school after high school and served five years of apprenticeship prior to working for the family plumbing business. Eventually establishing his own plumbing business in Massachusetts.
He loved old cars and loved to go to antique car shows. Tom was also a private pilot.
Survivors include wife of 43 years, Pia Mentzinger of Vero Beach, Florida, brothers Robert E. Mentzinger and his wife Judy of Waynesboro, Virginia and James K. Mentzinger and his wife Joan of South Egremont, Massachusetts and several nieces and nephews.
Please no flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to the Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice Foundation, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960 or the American Cancer Society, 3375 20th Street, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
At Tom's request there will be no services.
Arrangements are by Strunk Funeral Home and Crematory, Vero Beach.

Pia we are so sorry for your loss! Tom was a great guy and will dearly be missed! We hope during this difficult time you can find some peace in knowing Tom is now at peace and without any pain! Dear Pia, I've known you two for a long time. We've got a lot of memories don't we? I was blessed to stand up for you at your wedding. We are going to miss Tom. I did not have the good fortune to know Tom for very long. He was so kind and gentle. I remember him coming to see my mom in the hospital and his concern for her. I will always remember him in his white work clothes pedaling into the Racquet Club with a smile on his face! He was a treasure.
