Vera V. Sievert
1924 - 2010
DANBURY, CT - Vera Viktoria Sievert, 85, died on Sunday, June 13, 2010.
Born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden, Vera resided in Hasbrouck Heights, N.J. between 1967 and 1981; in Cheshire, Mass., between 1981 and 1999; and in Danbury since 1999.
Vera worked as a trust officer for the United Jersey Bank in Hackensack from 1971 to 1981. She was an active member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Hasbrouck Heights, N.J., the Swedish Folkdancers of New York, The Berkshire Handweavers' Guild in Stockbridge, Mass., and the Danbury Senior Center.
Vera leaves her son, Gunnar, and daughter-in-law, Jean, of Weston, Mass.; her son, Robert, and daughter-in-law, Melissa, of Ipswich, Mass.; her daughter, Mary-Ann, and son-in-law, John, of Carmel, N.Y.; and her six grandchildren, Emily, Madeleine, James, Erik, Anton, and Kristina.
Vera was predeceased by her husband, Arthur Sievert, in 1978 and her brother, Gunnar Eklöw, in 1990.
MEMORIAL NOTICE: Cremation was private. A memorial service celebrating Vera's life will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brewster, N,Y. The date is yet to be determined, but will likely occur in September or October. For information on memorial contributions and for additional information, please go to www.verasievert.com.
