Walter Gajda Obituary

Walter J. Gajda Sr.

NORTH ADAMS -- A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Walter J. Gajda Sr., 88, of 303 Beaver St., was celebrated Wednesday, Nov. 23, 11 a.m., at St. Francis of Assisi Church with the Rev. William Cyr, pastor of North Adams Catholic Community, officiating.
The acolyte was Joan Vincent. The pall was unfolded and the crucifix was placed on the pall by his sons, Thomas Gajda and Walter Gajda Jr., and by his daughter, Cheryl Westall. The ministers of the word were Jaime Gajda, a granddaughter, and Laura Gajda, a daughter-in-law. The offertory giftbearers were Nicole Westall, Jacqueline Draper and Matthew Gajda, all grandchildren.
The organist and soloist was Joshua Sprague.
Burial followed in Southview Cemetery. Pallbearers were Michael Yannone, Daniel Santolin, Richard Moreau, Frank Segala, Paul Corriveau and Lawrence Lewis.
Mr. Gajda died Nov. 17. The Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 W. Main St., was in charge of arrangements.
