Cathy Lindquist Obituary
June 14, 1960 – November 18, 2025
Cathy Jo Coxey Lindquist, age 65, beloved mother to 3 daughters, of Morehead City, North Carolina, was surrounded by family as she peacefully passed away in Wilmington, North Carolina of natural causes on November 18th, 2025, leaving a void her family cannot fill.
She was born in Muskegon, Michigan on June 14th, 1960, to Clyde W. Coxey and Caryl F. Coxey before then moving to Livonia, Michigan and then as a teenager to Orange County, California. Cathy attended college at California Lutheran University and received a degree in education. She spent her career making positive impacts on students' lives as a middle school teacher.
Cathy met her husband Niels Lindquist in 1983 on the beach in California. Cathy and Niels had three daughters and a fulfilling, family-focused life together. Cathy was a devoted mother to Kaya Lindquist Ervin, Kelly Coxey Lindquist, and Marae Lindquist West and their partners Jamie Ervin, Zach Cockrell, and Zach West, and a devoted grandmother to Cedar Ervin, Reid Ervin, Millie West, Finn West, and Kelly's soon to be born granddaughter. She always devoted herself fully to her family. Cathy took special joy in traveling with her family and teaching her children about the world. The people in her life will never forget the joy and love she radiated.
Cathy meant a lot to people in many parts of the world including Bessemer, Michigan; Big Bear, Lake California; San Diego, California; Gainesville, Florida and San Salvador, Bahamas. Traveling, being outside, swimming, adventuring, and being with family and friends gave Cathy tremendous joy in her life. Please keep her memory alive while doing activities that she loved.
Because Cathy had so many places of importance in her life, separate celebrations of life will be planned for future dates in Morehead City, North Carolina; Bessemer, Michigan and Big Bear Lake, California.
