Douglas Planellas Obituary
Douglas C. Planellas, Sr., passed away on June 18, 2024 at 65 years old due to health complications. He is survived by his 3 children, Jennifer Panici, Nancy Haldeman and Douglas C. Planellas, Jr., his 3 siblings and numerous grandchildren. He is preceded in death by the love of his life, Diana Planellas and daughter Katherine Planellas.
Doug lived in Big Bear for over 35 years after moving his young family out of the city. He was a craftsman in cabinetry with both building and installing cabinets throughout the valley. He had a great love for the outdoors, whether it be fishing, off-roading or wood cutting. He enjoyed playing darts, pool and was on several bowling leagues where he made many friends. He also loved watching all sports and was an avid Nascar memorabilia collector.
A celebration of life is planned for July 20, 2024 at 12:00 pm at Erwin Lake Park. In lieu of flowers please donate to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or your local animal shelter.
