Brenda Mehling Obituary

The Lord was beaming with pride when He welcomed our Brenda home.

Brenda Lee Mehling, whose vibrant spirit touched countless hearts, passed peacefully on November 9, 2024 with Roy and Molly beside her.

Brenda was born on May 28, 1980 in Sheridan, WY to Ellen and Harry Allen. She grew up on her family ranch with her three siblings, attending Custer Public School and later embarking upon a diverse collegiate experience, pursuing a degree in education.

Brenda and Roy were married on April 9, 2005 - their love a fierce, enduring force of devotion and shared dreams. Together, they built a successful spraying business based from their home in Fairview.

The happiest day of their life was the arrival of their daughter, Molly Sawyer, on September 2, 2015. Together, they loved travel and adventures: flying, fishing, hunting and "foraging the land" for fun crafts for Molly. Pocket Creek was Brenda's peaceful haven where her family was centered.

Brenda found joy in the little things, her zest for life shone brightly in her many passions. She adored her chickens, tending to them with care, and her dogs, who were her faithful companions. She had an eye for the whimsical and creative, evident in how she decorated their home and Molly's bearded dragon's lair for every season and holiday.

Brenda loved books and music. She created a playlist for every event be it a holiday, fishing outing or girls' night in with her nieces. She adored autumn, often musing: "I could have 12 months of October." She had an adventurous spirit and unmatched love of life.

Her laughter was infectious and her wit unmatched. She surrounded herself with funny people and loved movies that made her laugh out loud. She was known for sending the most thoughtful and hilarious greeting cards that captured her love for connection. Brenda exuded a natural warmth; her authenticity and sense of humor made those in her company feel welcomed and loved.

Through every trial and setback with her health, Brenda's faith was unwavering. May her light and positive optimism continue to be a beacon for all. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. Her presence was a gift, one that will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Brenda is survived by her husband, Roy; daughter, Molly; mother, Ellen Allen; sister, Cameon (Joe) Galli, brother, Wailes (Anne) Allen; sister, Annie (Ty) Larson; nieces and nephews: Ellen, Gia, Addison, Aubrey, Nolan, Brooks; and Roy's many loving family members.

A celebration of her life will be held at the Custer High School Gymnasium, 304 4th Ave on Wednesday, November 20 at 3:00.

Brenda loved libraries and the smell of books! In her memory and in lieu of flowers, please donate to your local library.
