Charles Melvin Kamphouse of Morley, Michigan, age 82, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 3, 2025. He was born to Albert and Hattie (Hutt) Kamphouse on April 29, 1942, in Highland Twp. Michigan.
Melvin was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He was an excellent mechanic maintaining helicopters during the war and then equipment at the farm. Melvin enjoyed farming and tending to his land with his siblings.
Melvin is survived by his nieces, Markay (Tim) McKenna, Susan (Doug) Russo, and Jennifer (Corey) Bush; nephew, Ronald Domasik; and brother-in-law, Ray. He was preceded in death by all of his siblings, Erma, June, Violet, Bob, Floyd, and Cliff.
The family would like to thank the staff of Samaritas Senior Living Cadillac for their care and compassion towards Melvin.
A time of public visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Howard City Funeral & Cremation Services, 225 E Edgerton St, Howard City, MI 49329. The funeral service with military honors will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Amble Cemetery.
