Jimmy was a remarkable man. In the best of times and the worst, he always had something funny to say. His bravery at the end of life was an inspiration to everyone that came by to visit. Rest in peace. You will not be forgotten.

I have known Jim and his family since the 1960's when both of our families spent summers growing up on the Muskegon River. Fishing, building tree houses and playing together each summer.
I have always known Jim to be friendly and a person that was easy to talk to, especially as a neighbor. A person who would help you anyway he could.
Jim was also a good friend to my parents who lived down the street from him and now my sister and her husband that took over my mom and dad's place after they passed on. So he seems like he has always been a part of my family as well.
I know he will be missed and my condolences for his family, especially brother Joe and sisters Claudia and Collette who I also spent summers with growing up together on the Muskegon River.

Whoever wrote Jimmie's obit was spot on, Heaven did get funnier on May 5th. When I saw "Jim", I thought, "Uh oh, I've been calling him "Jimmie" for decades." I always felt happy to see him and always felt fully, completely accepted by Jimmie. And that acceptance is a gift that I will always cherish.
