James Albert Wahmhoff Sr., age 75 of Morley passed away on Monday, August 2, 2021.
Jim was born on August 16, 1945 in Plainwell, Michigan the son of George and Faye (Lewis) Wahmhoff. He graduated from Plainwell High School and worked for several years at Belfer Drum and Barrel in Grand Rapids. Jim was an active member of Christ the King Church where he served as a Minister of the Eucharist. He was an avid reader and loved crosswords. In 1984 he married Susan Cummiskey and they we married until her death on November 11, 2019.
Jim was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a member of the Morley American Legion Post #554 and The Knights of Columbus.
He was also preceded in death by his sister, Rosemary; and brothers, Wilbur, Elmer, and Walter.
Jim is survived by his son James Jr. (Rebecca) Wahmhoff of Morley, grandchildren Hailey Melle and Owen Wahmhoff; his siblings, Evelyn, William (Cheri), and Happy (Sally); his in-laws, Karen (Cummiskey) & Thomas Balaskas, John William (Janet) Cummiskey Jr., Paul (Margaret) Cummiskey; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 6, 2021 at Christ the King Church with Father James VanderLaan officiating
The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 5 at the Christ the King Church and one hour prior to the Mass on Friday.
A Praying of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the church.
Burial with military honors will take place in the St. Apollonia Cemetery in Morley.
