Abel Y. Gomez, 40, of Midland Texas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 25, 2025. Visitation hours will be from 9am to 9pm Wednesday, October 29th at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Services will be 10am, Thursday, October 30th at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Interment will follow at Ackerly Cemetery.
Abel Gomez was born on April 19, 1985, in Big Spring, Texas to Rafel Gomez and Flora (Yharte) Gomez.
Abel worked in the oil field for many years, known by those around him for his strong work ethic and reliability. Even after facing health challenges and beginning kidney dialysis, Abel carried himself with strength and perseverance. His determination and quiet resilience inspired everyone who knew him.
In his free time, Abel enjoyed watching movies and listening to both Spanish and country music -two things that always brought him comfort and joy. He was a man of simple pleasures, honest values, and a heart that cared deeply for family and friends.
He is survived by his children, Isaias Gomez and Karyme Gomez; mother, Flora Gomez; brother, Emmanuel Gomez and sister-in-law Jovana Gomez; niece, Sophia Gomez; nephew, Ezra Gomez; other relatives, and many friends.
Able is preceded in death is father, Rafel Gomez.
