Larry Don Richardson was born Feb. 11, 1942, in Slaton, Texas to the late Floy & Dorothy Richardson. He had been a resident of Tyler since February 2020, formerly living in Elkhart and Big Spring.
He was Methodist by faith and enjoyed ranching, and raising horses and cattle.
Don graduated from Post High School in 1960, then completed his bachelor's degree from Texas Tech University. He furthered his education at West Texas A&M with an education degree, and then completed his master's degree at Texas A&M. He retired from Texas Agri-Life Extension Service, after serving in Seguin, Lampasas, Alice, and Big Spring for a total of 32 years. He also served as the state coordinator of the Texas Livestock Show Steer Validation Program for many years.
Don passed away at the age of 79, on May 23, 2021.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Sharion Richardson; son and daughter-in-law, Blair & Marti Richardson of Denver, CO; daughter and son-in-law, Shauna & Chad Hittle of Tyler; brother, Danny Richardson of Post; step-sister, Ann Howell of Lubbock; and three grandchildren, Bryce Richardson, Matthew Hittle and Tyler Hittle.

He will be greatly missed. His artwork was amazing. I have a couple of pieces I treasure greatly. So sorry for your loss.

I am so sorry to hear about Don’s passing. I have such fond memories of working with him at livestock shows and on the TCAAA Board of Directors. He will be missed.
