Lupe Mata Rodriguez, 73, died Friday, September 19, 2025. Visitation will be 9 Am until 9 PM Monday with a vigil service at 7 PM at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral mass will be 10 AM Tuesday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with burial at Mount Olive Cemetery.
Lupe was born on march 12, 1952 in Big Spring. She was a lifetime resident Big Spring and member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
Lupe was very family oriented; she loved her family and God children very much. She enjoyed shopping, cooking, and going to eat with family. She was friendly with everyone and knew no strangers. She loved being outside and growing plants. She was very religious and loved the Lord.
Lupe is survived by 5 children: Stephen Rodriguez (Melba) of Garland, Patrick Rodriguez (Allison) of Coahoma, Jacob Rodriguez of Big Spring, Rebecca Rodriguez (Eric) of Snyder, and Richard Rodriguez (Kimberly) of Snyder; 9 grandchildren: Christian, Patrick II, Ryan, Avery, Gavin, Derrick, Jayden, Talena, & Gabriela; siblings: Maria Mancha, Carlos Mata, Juana Muniz, Lydia Hensley, Antonio Mata, Roberto Mata, Ricardo Mata, & Christina Hilario; and multiple nieces nephews, & God children.
Lupe was preceded in death by her parents: Francisco & Cirilda Mata; spouse: Gabino Rodriguez, Jr.; 3 siblings: Jose Angel Mata, Elvira Hilario; and in laws: Eulalio Rodriguez, Leonor Sotelo, & Monica Chavez .
