Catherine Dempster Obituary
Cathy Dempster, age 73, was an avid lover of travelling and exploring the great outdoors leaving no rocks unturned or left behind. She saw beauty in everything and enjoyed endless visits with friends and family. She loved her deer and rabbits!
In her early years her childhood was spent living on several ranches around Big Timber including a home where Dornix Park now is as well as up the Boulder.
She met the love of her life Steven Dempster and they were married on March 14, 1970.
Mom was a hard worker and enjoyed serving meals, to cooking seniors meals as head cook at the nursing where she studied to be a dietitian.
In 1993 they once again retired from farm life and bought a hotel in Livingston, returning home to Big Timber to build and run River Valley Inn until December 2024.
Her family was her greatest blessing.
She is survived by Lance (LaVerna) Dempster, Stephanie (Joseph) Hartford, 8 kids and 8 grandkids and one on the way, her siblings Dan, Rose, Jeanne and Suzie as well as their families.
She is preceded in death by her parents Lillian and Ray Traver her husband Steven and granddaughter Brittany.
