Albert R. Litle

Albert R. Litle passed away Feb. 15, 2021, in Billings at the age of 102. Born Nov. 8, 1918, in Clyde Park, MT, he graduated from Gallatin County High in Bozeman and later Kinman Business University, Spokane, WA.

Al met his wife, Nellie A. Dykstra, a registered nurse, while attending the Bozeman Methodist Church. They were married Jun. 1, 1941. They had one daughter and three sons.

Al served in the U.S. Army during WWII as a radio operator in an open tank in Gen. George Patton's 10th Armored Division. He spent his career in the grocery business in Bozeman, first owning and operating Litle's Modern Grocery with his father and brother, and later forming a wholesale grocery corporation, Litle's Inc.

In 2003 the couple moved to Westpark Village Senior Living in Billings, where they made numerous good friends.

Due to COVID limitations, services will take place in Bozeman later this summer. Condolences may be left and a complete obituary read at smithfuneralchapels.com

I’m so sorry to hear of Albert’s passing. I met him and his family years ago while visiting from Missouri. Albert’s father, Orville, was my Grandpa Lewis’s brother. Again, so sorry for you loss.
