Lois A. Jones, 89, of Billings, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2015, while a resident at St. John's Lutheran Ministries.
Lois, a Billings native, was born on July 29, 1925, married Carl in 1952 and was a good mom to Carol (Gordon, deceased), Bob (Charlene) and Brian (Jolane). The family moved every few years, and Lois always turned this into an adventure for the children. Carl died in 1995.
With her children grown, Lois held various office jobs until age 75, including the one she most enjoyed at the University of Nevada, Reno. She enjoyed using her piano and organ skills in worship at various churches in Billings until her heart robbed her of that joy.
Early in her life, Lois began using her middle name exclusively. Only her husband and brother called her Amy. When her brother George visited her in ICU eight years ago and called her Amy, the nurse told him he had the wrong room!
She is survived by her three children, five grandchildren, seven and a half great-grandchildren, and her brother George Anderson (Patty).
"A big thank you to St. John's Lutheran Home for the 7½ years of family-like care they gave our mother."
Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, March 26, at Faith Evangelical Church.
Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary has charge of arrangements. Condolences may be shared with the family by visiting www.michelottisawyers.com.
