ERIE, Colo. - Andrew Stahl, "Andy," 29, of Erie, died as a result of an accident Friday, April 4, 2008.
Born on July 24, 1978, to Dale and Nadine Stahl of Park City, Mont., Andy attended Park City Schools and one year of college at Montana State University. Following his first college year, he started a summer job in the tire center at Costco in Billings. He transferred to Superior to help open a new Costco store and began his 11-year career, advancing to manager. His coworkers and friends became his second family.
Colorado became a good fit for his love of biking, hiking, hunting, fishing, rock-climbing, camping and skiing. He absolutely loved the mountains and skiing. He was able to master some of the most challenging ski resorts including the Swiss Alps.
Always up for a new adventure, Andy lived a lifetime in his 29 years. Along his path, he became rich in friends as he made friends everywhere he went. He was a best friend to everyone, lifting them up with his contagious smile and laugh. He never passed up an opportunity to help someone out and performed many acts of kindness. We were blessed to have Andy here one month ago for his sister's wedding.
He is survived by his parents, Dale and Nadine "Deanie"; his brother, Eric; his sister, Rose (Cory) Smith; his grandparents, Ted and Eleanor Kostelecky of Billings, Earl and Betty Stahl of South Milwaukee; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He always wished you "Peace" when he parted, or ended his conversation with "Peace," and now we know he has his "Peace."
He will "Never Stop Exploring."
Cremation has taken place. Memorial mass will be Saturday, April 12, 10 a.m., at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Laurel, Mont.
