Bertha Greenwald Obituary

HARDIN - Bertha Greenwald, 89, longtime Hardin area resident, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 29, 2013, at Heritage Acres.

She was born on July 31, 1923, in West Rhauderfein, Germany, to Wilhelm and Amolia (Seibel) Kramer. She and son Vic immigrated to the U.S. in 1951. She married Conrad (Con) Greenwald in 1952 and they resided on the family farm south of Hardin until 1978 when they retired to Butte where they lived until Con's passing in 1985. Bertha was an outstanding mother and homemaker, an excellent cook, handcrafted many quilts and enjoyed crocheting for family and friends. She also enjoyed her early morning coffee and conversation with friends at McDonald's. She was a member of the E & R Church where she was a member of the Women's Guild and kitchen committee. She also was a longtime member of the Two Leggins Home Demonstration Club.

Her loving husband Con; two sisters; and two brothers preceded Bertha in death.

Survivors include her son Vic (Patricia) Kramer of Hardin; granddaughters Melanie, of the family home, and Laurie (Dan) De Ieso of Washington; and two great granddaughters, Taylor and Alyssa; and stepson Robert Greenwald of Powell, Wyo., and his family.

The family would like to thank Dr. Morissette and Kim Caprata and the staff at Heritage Acres for their care and support of Bertha in her final days.

Funeral services and inurnment will be held at a later date. Memorial gifts may be made to Hardin E & R Church, Big Horn County Historical Museum, or to the charity of your choice. Bullis Mortuary has been entrusted with the arrangements.
