Carrie Round Face Obituary

Sings To the Flower
(2/12/1955 - 1/26/2007)

Born the eldest daughter of her father, the late Calvin Round Face, and her mother, Julia Spotted Bear-Round Face of Pryor. Carrie was born in Crow Agency and grew up in Pryor. She received her education at St. Charles Mission through the eighth grade and she attended three years at Marty Indian School in South Dakota. She graduated with honors from Edgar High School as an early graduate in December 1972.
Carrie enjoyed her life to the fullest to experience as many things as she could. She played basketball and baseball during her school years. She enjoyed bowling and playing pool, but she loved to play hand games and going to powwows the most. She was well-known and well-received by many people throughout the powwow circuit. Her mastery of beadwork was very well known. She once completed an entire outfit for a champion Grass Dancer. She was a strong believer in her Native American ways, and she was a member of the Catholic Church. She was adopted and active in the Native American Church.
Carrie is survived by her son, Quinton; mother Julia; and her sisters and brothers, Marva, Howard, Judalon, Daniel, Greta and Johnnie; numerous aunts and uncles, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
In the fall of 1991, Carrie was visiting her adopted parents Bobby (Annie) Henry on the Miccosukee Seminole Reservation in Florida. It was there that she met her companion, Albert McCabe at the Arts & Crafts Show, and together they shared 16 special years together. They made their home in Rocky Park, Ariz., before moving back to Montana.
Carrie had a very special relationship with her brothers and sisters-in-law and with her mother-in-law, Ms. Delores McCabe, whom Carrie was very fond and protective of. The McCabe family loved her very much, and they enjoyed her sense of humor and her good stories. She will be missed by all her family, including her extended family, the Round Faces, Spotted Bears, Windy Boys, Big Lakes, Little Lights, Whitemans, Real Birds, Moccasins, Blaines, Falls Downs, Bears Tails, Rogers, Doneys, Coffeys, Crooked Arms, Plain Feathers, Costas, Stands, Stops, Plainbulls, Red Stars, Horns, Bull Tails, Not Afraids, Wallaces, Richardsons, Hein, Nagels, the McCabe families of Arizona, and the Good Bear and Foote families of North Dakota. Her adopted family members include Sylvia (Hartford) Stops, Jessie Bonilla, the Kelly families of Arizona, Johnny Begay family of Arizona, Joanie Henry family of Florida, Bell families of Idaho, Bear and the Gone families of Fort Belknap, Shawna Nielson, Monica Nagel, Toni Rae Blue Shield and Jenniye Deputee. Carrie had made many friends over the years, including all those whom she played with regularly at Bingo. We could not remember everyone's names. Our apologies for all those whom we forgot to mention.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30, at St. Charles Mission in Pryor. Interment will be in the Round Face Cemetery in Pryor. Arrangements are in the care of Dahl Funeral Chapel in Billings.

My condolences to Carrie's family during your time of grief. I only met Carrie a few times in my life and I knew we were related. I just met Jubie in 1976 at Billings during a summer school there and found out just how closely related we are.
