Charles 'Charlie' William Wicks

LEWISTOWN - Charles 'Charlie' William Wicks, 83, passed away at his home on Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2021. He was born in Denton, Montana on May 7, 1937 to William K. and Hazel Ridgeway Wicks.

Charles was educated in Lewistown starting at Garfield Elementary, Lewistown Jr. High, and graduating from Fergus County High School in 1955. He furthered his education at the University of Montana in Missoula earning a Degree in Pharmacy in 1960.

On Dec. 27, 1959 Charles was united in marriage to Carole Jean Baird at Zion Lutheran Church in Lewistown. Charles was the owner and manager of the Lewistown Pharmacy. After 51 years he sold the store and retired in May of 2011.

Charles was a member of the Montana Pharmaceutical Association serving as Board Member from 1987-1991 and President from 1998-1990 (receiving the McKesson Leadership Award in 1989). He was also a member of the Eagles, Elks, Lions, Jaycees, Lewistown Rifle Association, Bow Hunters Association, Snowy Mountain Muzzleloaders, Sons of The American Legion, and Kappa PSI (chaplain). He loved hunting for big game and birds and just being in the outdoors.

Charles is survived by his wife, Carole Wicks; children, Cheri Wicks and husband John Shaw, Debi Wicks and husband Charlie Conrad, Christine Wicks and husband Blair Stewart, and Brian Wicks; granddaughter, Chandler Stewart; and grandson, Harrison Wicks. He is preceded in death by his father, Bill Wicks and mother, Hazel Wicks.

Viewing during the week will be held at Creel Funeral Home. Graveside Services at the Lewistown City Cemetery will be held Thursday, Feb. 18, 2021 at 1 p.m. A Celebration for Charlie will be held later in the year when we can gather comfortably. Memorial donations can be made to the University of Montana, Missoula, School of Pharmacy Scholarship.

So sorry to see of Charlie´s passing. I have good memories of shooting at the rifle club with him when I was in high school, and visiting with him in the pharmacy getting meds for my parents, Don & Margaret Boyer. I would like to know when his memorial service will be.
