Christine Leona Croft

Christine Leona Croft, 17, of Billings, Montana died tragically in a car accident on Feb. 2, 2021.

Christine was born in Laramie, Wyoming on Nov. 26, 2003 to parents Michael and Michelle (Dickson) Croft. She arrived the day before Thanksgiving, a gift to a grateful mom and dad.

At the time of her death, Christine was a junior at Billings Senior High School and the Career Center. She was enrolled in Honors and AP courses, a member of Senior High's Chamber Choir and active in the S.T.E.M. Club. A social justice warrior, Christine participated in Senior High's Gay-Straight Alliance Club.

Christine loved learning and had a deep appreciation for her teachers. She attended elementary school at Boulder, Poly Drive, and Rose Park in Billings. In 5th and 6th grade, Christine was accepted into the Extended Studies classroom at Rose Park. In this class, Christine made friendships that she maintained until her death. To both Christine and teacher Darla Williams' credit, she blossomed in this classroom and learned skills that would focus the trajectory of her education.

Christine attended Lewis and Clark Middle School and participated in Math Club and Select Choir. At this time, Christine was a member of a local Lego Robotics team. This team was able to compete at an international Lego Robotics competition in Houston, Texas.

Christine loved books and was an aspiring School Librarian. At most moments, Christine could be found reading a book or looking for a new book in the school library. She worked for one year as a school library aide at Lewis and Clark. Christine's favorite books were Harry Potter and all of the mythology books by Rick Riordan. Recently, Christine's reading passion was Japanese Manga and anything in the Horror genre. Truly, Christine's literary interests were broad and she sought out anything printed and bound.

Christine was an exceptional writer and artist. She worked extensively on collaborative writing platforms that included sketching and developing animated characters.

Christine was a friend to many and sought out opportunities to befriend those on the fringes. She looked forward to any moments she could spend with her closest friends Alison, Luke, Khadron, and Louise.

Christine was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As a member of the Church's Young Women organization, Christine's favorite times were spent hiking, camping at Girls' Camp and learning from phenomenal leaders.

Christine is survived by her parents, Michael and Michelle; sisters, Emma (14) and Julia (10); brothers, Jacob (11) and William (5) all of Billings; Grandparents Brian and Linnea Dickson of Lovell, WY, and Wynn Croft of Billings, Cindy Croft, and Jay Hunder of Powell, WY; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
