Debbie Sheets, 51, of Billings, passed away Oct. 6, 2002, at St. Vincent Healthcare, from complications of a hard-fought battle against MS that spanned 24 years.
Debbie was born Oct. 29, 1950, to Jerry and Joyce (Van Huss) Elmore in Anderson, Ind. At an early age, the family moved to Illinois.
Debbie married David Sheets on Jan. 30, 1982, and continued to work as a bookkeeper for a travel agency until 1987, when they relocated to Montana.
As her illness progressed, her activities were limited, but she stayed busy visiting with her family and her beloved granddaughters. She was an avid soap opera fan and really enjoyed old movies.
Preceding her in death are her grandparents and a brother. She is survived by her husband, David; son, Randy (Michele) Tinder of Fountain, Colo.; granddaughters, Miranda and Jenae Tinder; her parents, Jerry and Joyce; brother, David (Tammy) Elmore of Catlin, Ill.; sister, Charlene (Steve) Cornett of Tilton, Ill.; and her aunt, Donna Van Huss of Indianapolis, Ind.
Cremation has taken place. No services are planned in Billings. Private services will be held in Illinois at a later date. Arrangements are by Cremation or Funeral Gallery.
The family wishes to thank the nurses and home health care aides of both the Private Duty Program and the Visiting Nurse Service.
"Debbie, we love you and we are going to miss you."
