Dennis Gambill Obituary

Dennis P. Gambill

Dennis P. Gambill, 83, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2025, at St. Vincent's Hospital in Billings, MT.

Born in New Salem, ND, Dennis led a full and meaningful life defined by discipline, dedication, curiosity, and quiet strength. He served in the U.S. Army for four years, spending time stationed in Korea, before embarking on a long career as an insurance agent and consultant. His experiences in Korea left a lasting impression-so much so that years later, his son Michael spent a year there himself, inspired in part by his father's time in the service.

In addition to his insurance career, Dennis taught classes at Eastern Montana College (now MSU Billings), where he enjoyed sharing his knowledge and experience with others.

Dennis was a gifted athlete in his youth-he played football in high school and was a scratch golfer in college. Beyond his professional life, he nurtured a deep love of the outdoors. The Bighorn Mountains were his sanctuary, and he spent countless days there fly fishing and camping with his family.

A voracious reader, skilled woodcarver, and natural storyteller, Dennis brought warmth and thoughtful perspective to those around him. He filled his family's lives with many beautiful and rich memories. He will be greatly missed.

Dennis is survived by his wife of 60 years, Terri Gambill; his sons, Brian and wife, Julie (Victor, NY), and Michael (Durango, CO); his grandchildren, Jonathan and Grace Gambill; his brother, Gary; and his sister, Cinde.

No formal service will be held.
