Devin Smith

1967 - 2025

Devin P. Smith, beloved son, brother, partner, and friend, passed away suddenly on August 19, 2025, in Billings, Mont.

Devin was born on April 12, 1967, in Burien, Wash., to Arden and Barbara Smith. He grew up in Helena, Mont., and graduated from Capital High School in 1985. Devin proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Reserves, achieving the rank of Captain, Armored Cavalry.

For over 30 years, Devin was a dedicated and highly respected colleague at Costco in Billings, where his warmth, reliability, sense of humor and work ethic left a lasting impact on those who worked alongside him. He will be deeply missed.

Outside of work, Devin cherished his time at home, where he found joy in the simple and meaningful moments of life. He loved working on home projects, watching cooking shows, camping, and spending time with his animals. Devin adored Shorty, Natalie's horse, enjoyed playing with his dog Scoobey, and his beloved cats. He took pleasure in planting flowers, sitting on the deck watching birds, and was always ready with a cooler of cold beer for any friends who might stop by-because at Devin's home, everyone was welcome.

Devin is survived by his loving mother, Barbara Smith of Great Falls; his little sister, Laurel Smith of Atlanta, Ga.; and his partner-in-life, Natalie Dragoo. He was preceded in death by his father, Arden Smith.

Devin's warmth, humor, and generous spirit will be remembered by all who knew him. Per his request, there will be no official service.
