Dorothy Marriage Obituary

PLENTYWOOD - Memorial services for Dorothy Marriage will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 11, 2015. Pastor Charles Kelly officiates the service at Zion Lutheran Church in Flaxville; interment of cremated remains will be in Whitetail Cemetery. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren are considered Honorary Bearers. Dorothy died early Sunday, May 3, at Sheridan Memorial Nursing Home in Plentywood, where she had been resident since 2008; she was 91.

Dorothy was born July 30, 1923, in Whitetail, the daughter of Edwin and Estella Potter. She married Lester Marriage on Nov. 25, 1939, in Plentywood. They lived briefly in Whitefish before moving to California in 1941, where Les was employed by Lockheed Aircraft until 1943, when they returned to Whitetail to farm with her father, Edwin, and her brother, Irving Potter. Dorothy very much enjoyed the farm life and was involved in everything from driving the grain trucks in the fields to bringing out, with her sister-in-law Helen, the hot meals during harvest. In 1980, Dorothy and Les moved to Plentywood and enjoyed many years with new friends in the community.

Dorothy is survived by her two sons, Dennis of Cut Bank, and Rick and his wife Debbie of Whitetail/Plentywood; her half-brother Harry of Phoenix; and four grandchildren, Treasure Berkram (Dean) of Cut Bank, Teri Kennedy (Greg) of Madison, Wis., Michelle Marriage of Billings, and Chad (Jenny) Marriage of Missoula; and 10 great-grandchildren, Kyle, Jared and Reid Berkram, James Roberts, Victoria and Alexis Kennedy, Megan and Tate Marriage, and Ayden and Ryland Marriage.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Estella Potter; her stepmother, Anna; her brother, Irving; and grandson Michael.

Fulkerson Funeral Home of Plentywood has charge of arrangements. Read and print the obituary, post remembrances, and send cards and flowers online at www.fulkersonsplentywood.com.
