Edward Steven Badura went to be with the Lord on Sept. 27, 2011. He was born to Catherine (Franckoviak) and Francis Badura on June 16, 1935, in Loup City, Neb. Edward grew up in Billings and Clark, Wyo.
Edward attended Billings Central Catholic High School, Carroll College and Montana State University, receiving a degree in chemistry and working as Chief Chemist for Great Western and Western Sugar Cos. in Billings; Lovell, Wyo.; Scotts Bluff, Neb.; as well as others.
In 1959, Edward married Dorothy May Slough and they had seven children. In 1978, they divorced. Edward enlisted in the Army, serving for several years, and we thank him for his service and the Veteran's Administration for his stay at Billings Health and Rehab.
Dad enjoyed fishing, Denver Bronco games, poker, gardening, as well as reading scripture and prayer. Dad's journey of faith only increased in his last years, and it was wonderful to see a blessed transformation unfold.
Edward is survived by his children Mona Badura, Kirby Badura, John Badura, all of Portland, Ore., Glenda Banks, Dee (Norman) Thomas, Edward Badura, all of Billings, and Karla (Rico) Fantigrossi of Charlotte, N.C.; his siblings Carolyn Hubbard of Bozeman, Janice Reichert of Belgrade, Martin Badura of Ennis, Theresa Deso of Midland, Texas, and Elemarie Denney of Clarksfork, Wyo.; as well as many grandchildren, nieces, nephews and others.
He was preceded in death by his ex-wife Dorothy (Slough) Badura; parents Catherine and Francis; and siblings Margaret, Frederick, Francis, Gene, and Paul.
Visitation for Edward is 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, 2011, at Dahl Funeral Chapel. Vigil and Funeral Mass are both at St. Patrick's Co-Cathedral: Vigil 6 p.m. Sunday, Funeral Mass 10:00 a.m. Monday.
