Elizabeth A. "Liz" Flick, 59, of Billings, on April 30, 2002, won her long battle with breast cancer.
Elizabeth Steffen was born in Cooperstown, N.D., Jan. 5, 1943, to Clarence and Nina Steffen. She was baptized April 18, 1943, confirmed June 16, 1957, both at Zion Lutheran Church, Griggs County, N.D. She was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. She was honored to be an organist for her church from high school until cancer would no longer allow her to play.
Liz married Dennis Flick, July 3, 1964, in Las Vegas. Throughout their marriage, they lived in San Diego, Honolulu, Eugene, Ore., and Helena, before settling in Billings in 1974. Together, they raised three children, Joni, Jason and Brandon, and cherished their six grandchildren, Haylee, Emily, Wyatt, Jourdan, MacKinzie and Daquiri.
Liz kept busy with her many interests, gardening, sewing, bowling and golfing. But her greatest love was her faith in God, and her family.
Liz is survived by her husband Dennis; daughter Joni West (Tom); son Jason Flick (Amie), grandchildren Haylee, Emily and Wyatt; son Brandon Flick (Angie), grandchildren Jourdan, MacKinzie and Daquiri. She is also survived by brothers Dale Steffen (Janice) and Clarence, Jr. (Mary); sister Audrey Wilhelm (Duane); and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends she held very close in her heart.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 4, at the Hope Lutheran Church, 1911 U.S. Highway 87 East, Lockwood. Interment to follow at Yellowstone Valley Memorial Park. Visitation to start 5 p.m. Thursday, May 2, at Smith Downtown Chapel.
