BUSBY - Elizabeth J. Morrison, 55, of Busby, died Saturday, March 1, 2203, in Belle Fourche, S.D., of natural causes.
Beth was born Aug. 5, 1947, in Michigan, the daughter of Henry and Gladys Grant Erat. She spent her youth and attended schools in Gaylord, Mich., graduating from Gaylord High School.
She came to Busby in 1985 and on Aug. 26, 1986, Beth married David Morrison in Lame Deer. Beth and David operated the family ranch for many years. In 1992, Beth went to work in the Northern Cheyenne Tribal School in Busby as a teachers aide, and has continued to work at the school until the time of her death.
Beth loved animals and raised paint horses. She also enjoyed cooking, doing beadwork, and was known for her craftsmanship in making necklaces, chokers and breastplates.
She is survived by her husband David of Busby; four children, Dawn (Kenny) Minard, Deanna (David) Wilson, Carla Squire and Carl Squire, Jr., all of Michigan; stepchildren, Dora Morrison of Billings, James Morrison of Busby, Sam (Lisa) Morrison of Durango, Colo., Sylvia Morrison of Salt Lake City, Pearl Morrison of Busby, Orville Morrison of Busby and Davrene Morrison of Billings; two adopted sisters, Connie Hurtig of Hardin, Elsie Wick of Busby; brother-in-law Mervin Morrison of Miles City; sister-in-law Linda Morrison of Crow Agency; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Beth was preceded in death by her parents; her mother-in-law, Montana Morrison Clubfoot; and granddaughter Trinity.
A wake will be 7 p.m. Monday, March 10, at the Circle of Life Lutheran Church at Muddy Cluster. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 11, at Circle of Life Lutheran Church. Cremation will follow the services. Interment of the urn will take place at a later date at the Morrison Family Cemetery. Beals Mortuary of Forsyth is assisting the family with these arrangements.
